PATITAS, a twi-hard?

Judging by today's behavior, it is probably very apparent that Patitas is, indeed, a twi-hard. Much to her dismay.

Patitas has read all five books. Yes, that includes the 'Short Life of Bree Tanner' novella released earlier this year. And Patitas has loved them all, some more than other, but all none the less. 

Many argue that the Twilight series should not even be considered literature, and that the writing is poor at best. But, considering Patitas is foreign, she probably doesn't know better. Yeah, we'll go with that excuse.

Patitas is well aware the the movies suck. To put it mildly.  But the curiosity, to see the book play out in the big screen and compare it to what it looked like in Patitas head, is too much to pass on.

This curiosity is what has made Patitas watch, time and again, the Twilight movies. Patitas mercilessly shreds the acting to pieces and is a little more forgiving on the visual effects. But still, Patitas has to watch the movies when they come out. At the movie theater.

Which brings us to today.  The day that defined Patitas as a twi-hard. The day that Patitas ditched work at 1pm to go watch Eclipse on opening day.

Yeah. Patitas is a twi-hard.

PATITAS and the iPhone 4

The day began with Patitas going to the Apple Store at 6:20 am, to stand in line and buy an iPhone, the iPhone, the iPhone 4.

It was obvious ahead of time that the line would be ridiculous, and that many a geek would be camping from the night before.

However, after only an hour, the actual store was in sight. Better yet, the store was 40 feet away. Ooooh the anticipation.

Could Patitas get the iPhone and make it to work on time. Sweeeet!

At 8:30 they are ushering us into the Store.  "This might actually work!" said Patitas under her breath.

Except, it was all a ploy. A ploy I tell you!. A ploy to give you false hope. A ploy to make you think you are almost home free. 

Because once you are in, in, you have no choice but to stay.

and then.... two more lines!

Patitas left the Apple store at 10 am.

PATITAS and the 60th Bday

Patitas went to NYC for the weekend in search for the perfect Bridesmaid dress.

Instead, Patitas ended up celebrating H's dad's 60th Birthday! Hooray!

and meeting up with two old friends by chance.

PATITAS at the Boston POPS

Patitas and Piecitos went to the Symphony to watch (eh, listen) to the Boston POPs play Rodgers and Hammerstein.

They'd never been to the Symphony in Boston, and considering these were free tickets offered by their building manager, well, why not?

Except, Patitas had never seen most of the R&M movies/musicals (Carrousel, South Pacific, the King and I, Oklahoma...).

The only one Patitas had seen was the Sound of Music.

But they played this last. And Patitas had had enough.

PATITAS got cold

Patitas lives in Boston.

And even though it is supposed to be summer, New England weather didn't get the memo. So it's 50F today.

Patitas got cold, and broke out the boots. HA.

This picture was actually taken yesterday (06/10) morning as Patitas was waiting for her friend Amy to pick her up.

A couple of weeks ago, Amy and Patitas began goin to the gym at 6:30 am.

PATITAS goes Sailing

Time travel to the summer of 2009, and you will find Patitas sailing for the 1st time.

Patita's Boss is a member of the Boston Harbor Sailing Club, and offered to take the entire team sailing, where else?, in the Boston Harbor.

Patitas brought along Piecitos and, with a few co-workers, had an amazing time out in the hot sumer sun.

The sailing trip included everything from swimming, to lessons on toilet 'operation' and... a cherry-pit spitting contest.

PATITAS and the NBA Finals

Spotted: Patitas chilling at home watching the NBA finals.

Patitas is not a big sports fan, but when you live in a city like Boston; home to the Celtics, the Red Sox, the Patriots AND the Bruins, it's hard to ignore sports.

Even when you don't care about basketball, the 'green fever' gets to you as if by osmosis.  So here we have it, Patitas is watching the Celtics take on the Lakers.

A particularly heated final since the rivalry goes back to the 80's.

PATITAS drowning in work

Patitas has been drowning with work lately.  And since you can't actually drown in your work, well, not in Engineering anyways; Patitas thought this pic was very representative of what life has been like at the office.

Here, Patitas is a midst a meeeellion plans and drawings from all the various projects she's working on.

And it's only Monday, eh?

PATITAS and the rain

Patitas is finally home after a sunday that started like every other sunday, with brunch.  Patitas, Piecitos, H, Tins and Andie went to Zaftigs.

A few minutes after indulging in banana bread slices (with melting date butter) and an egg and munster cheese sandwich, the skies collapsed in what the weather chanel called a "hurricane".  Twitter informed us that trees had fallen all over the city, so refuge was taken in the form of a movie theater.

The movie of choice: Shrek 4. 

The movie is pretty funny, considering that after 4 installments you'd think they would have run out of jokes and things to say. And the 3D animation far surpasses any other I've seen. Yes, that includes you Avatar.

So now Patitas is home, seeking shelter from the rain due to the lack of appropriate apparel. It appears that Patitas didn't get the rain memo before leaving the house.

under beautiful skies filled with nothing but sun.

A few hours into the afternoon

PATITAS met Aurora Lucia today.

She was born June 2nd at 15:00

3.3 kg and 48 cm.

Lil' Luli looks just like dad!

Congrats to the new parents!

She's adorable.

Note: Exactly one year ago, the same people were gathered around in a maternity ward a few blocks away meeting the first baby of the clan.
